FARALLON, Coclé. The construction of a community septic tank in the fisherman community of Farallon and of a small chamber of filtration would be the answer that the authorities would give to the contamination problem that is presented in Farallon river. This was the conclusion that was gotten too by the representatives of the entities that have to do with a solution to the problem during the tour done last Saturday.    Before you walk along the margins of the river, Leandro Gonzalez, president of the chain of hotels Royal Decameron Panama, presented a report that demonstrated that the degree of contamination of the river is inferior to the one registered in the study made by the Universidad de Panama. Gonzalez gave out copies to the journalist with the results of the analysis made in the engineering labs of the Universidad Tecnologica de panama. This report register the existence of only 327 fecal matters in the mouth of Farallon River, while in the beach area there is no such contamination Gonzalez stressed. The director of the Institute de Acueductos y Alcantarillados Nacionales (IDAAN), Laurencio Guardia Jaen, said that even though the low levels of contamination in the river it is necessary to attack the problem in time before it becomes a serious one. For this reason it added that technicians from IDAAN would inspect and create a map of the area so they can develop a master plan and after that begin its construction. Guardia expects that the project must be completed before the end of this year. The cost of the this construction would be between 40 thousand and 100 thousand dollars and the funds would be provided by the Royal Decameron and Barcelo HotelsThe state would return the investment thru fiscal credits. In the tour the participation of city members of the Ministry of health, the director of the Autoridad Nacional del Ambiente, Ricardo Anguizola and the governor of Coclé, Richard Fifer and the legislator Javier Tejeria.
