Governor promises to end Pollution of rivers in Cocle

After a study from the University of Panama (UP) reveals that there are high levels of faecal streptococci in the river Farallon de Cocle the governor of that province, Richard Fifer, said that this tributary is a priority in the fight to end the pollution caused by water black in the district of Antón.

For his part, Director of Environmental Quality ANAM, Bolivar Perez explained that many rivers in the republic are affected by pollution septic tanks, which have a certain shelf life and are designed for certain
user capacity. The problem is not receiving the proper maintenance, which consists of suction of fecal material by some companies involved in this trade.
According to Perez, it’s time for lack of maintenance overflow, because they have served their useful life and its load has exceeded the limit.
